The Yonderbar

The heart of Bedepuszta

Probably the best bar in the Hungarian countryside

The Yonderbar is actually the village living room, a cosy hang-out where you can go for a nicely-brewed beer, homemade lemonades or quality Hungarian wine. The bar is decorated with antiques from the surroundings of the village and decorated by artists from Budapest. There is a large authentic masonry stove (kemence) that heats the entire room, a piano and an organ. In the back room is a sofa with a large table and a cupboard full of the best current board games. The covered terrace offers spectacular views over the green valley and the peaks of the Mátra Mountains. In the beer garden there is fire place and a stage where many a band has played. Behind the bar, at the entrance of the recreation area, you walk past the reception to the place for information, questions and books from the library with, among other things, Hungarian literature translated into English.

The Yonderbar is the first building you see when you enter the village. On the other side of the road are the Hammock Camp and the beach volleyball court. Uphill from the bar, you pass the pavilion, the summer kitchen and the swimming pool. Then you enter a large green field with old pear and apple trees and the Játék building, a game room with ping pong, table football and darts, then another meadow and the former school building (Iskola), a large multifunctional space. The area at the top of the hill is still under development. A wine cellar, a large oven with a terrace, a glamping area and sauna have been planned for this area.
